Frank Cangiano earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University at Albany and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Marist College. Frank was employed as a Probation Officer for the Albany County Probation Department from May 2002 until May 2015. During his career with this office Frank supervised a juvenile supervision caseload from May 2002 to March 2006 and supervised a specialized caseload of convicted sex offenders from March 2006 to May 2015. During his work with the specialized sex offender caseload, Frank’s responsibilities included monitoring probation and sex offender registry compliance for his caseload, writing specialized sex offender presentence investigations, conducting joint field operations with local law enforcement agencies, and co-facilitating a sex offender treatment group on a weekly basis. Frank left his career at the Albany County Probation Department in May 2015 and after graduating from the Parole Academy he was briefly employed as a Parole Officer in Albany, New York from July 2015 to September 2015. He left this career in September 2015 and is currently a Community Correction Representative for the New York State Office of Probation and Correctional Alternatives (OPCA) within the Division of Criminal Justice Services. His primary responsibilities in this position include oversight of the Ready, Set Work! job readiness programs throughout New York State as well as serving as OPCA’s employment specialist. Frank was elected in May 2014 as a Board Member with the New York State chapter of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers and currently serves as Secretary.
